was eagerly looking forward to recess week, but as i look at this coming week's schedule, every day'll be spent either mugging for the many tests the following wk, or doing projects, or attending cca meetings. can't wait for december!!! really want to go taiwan n maybe spend christmas there.

DECEMBER come now! i promise myself i'll use dec hols to treat myself & not use it to work myself hard.

my 1st time in hk was one experience i'll never forget. though i only went there for 2 short days, it was an eye-opener for me. let's start with the 1st time i stepped in & sat the airport express, from my bro's face, you can notice he's pretty much bored after sitting in the airport express countless of times, but from my face, i look excited! hk, here i come!

before we checked into our hotel, bro had to withdraw $$$ from citibank 1st. while i was waiting outside, i was in the middle of a mini-demonstration. sandwiched between the police & 3 protestors, the feeling was really awkward. what was the strike about? 3 aunties wanted their money invested in their short-term bonds refunded, n made their point about banks extorting their $$$ really clearly by laying loudspeakers & banners on the floor. i would have to say it was a really organised & civilised demonstration. good strategy placing the speakers there, definitely fooled the crowds around. i almost thought the amplified sound effect signalled a massive demonstration of 50 plus ppl.

bro left me alone to go to shenzhen. so i walked around causeway bay & checked out the several ladies shop there. judging from the way the salesgirls treated me, i really can pass off as a true blue hongkonger *phew*, amazing, considering the fact that my canto is SO limited. “多谢多谢” duojie duojie was my most frequently used word. figured it was the most polite thing to say, even though i wasn't asking for anything most of the time

my friends' church wedding was the true test of how well i understood cantonese. the emcee only spoke in canto, felt like i was having canto listening comprehension n i surprisingly did very well. i actually understood every word he said, & i didn't even have to copy what other ppl were doing nor look really blur not following instructions. 很好，我的广东语言进步了！

my last day in hk was spent shopping in mongkok! 不懂为什么有些人这么不讲理？one woman grabbed my hand before i could even walk off, just cos i felt 280hk dollar for a sch bag was really really ex & i refused to buy the bag unless she sold it to me for 100 hkd. eventually my bro saved me n we settled for 130 dollar before she loosen her grip off my hand. i seriously need to be more aggressive the next time i'm there n tell ppl like her to "放开我的手，我立刻叫公安！”
n i witnessed another demonstration. falungong workers & their appeal against illegal organ transplant in homeland China. they used so many graphic aids & videos, that it's difficult to ignore them if you walk pass. definitely got their point across to me.

fast track to the 1st time i took a plane alone. i had 1 hour to walk around hk terminal 1, definitely had to savour their 大虾云吞面。 but the one they served at the airport was disappointing, so much noodle was served but only 4 wanton :(
1 hour passed quickly, not long later, i was in the shuttle bus waiting to board jetstar, overheard 2 angmoh exchange students laughing about how easy it is to hook up with asian girls *rolls my eyes*. chauvinists, try flirting with me, n you'll see
good thing, i sat on the plane along without them provoking me for another 3 hours home.

so to hk, i'll be back soon in a few yrs' time, not before i improve my canto 1st. of cos, not forgetting, taiwan by end of this yr! 芒果冰，等我！我会尽快去找你！
