i guess the only reason why i don't like to blog, is cos i need a topic to blog about, THE thing to talk about. so here i am, back to my blog space, with a topic to share!

was talking to carol that day about how wales went, then she was sharing about her clubbing experiences with huan, over there they don't have ladies night, cos the girls drink a lot more than the guys. the usual scene at a club there is girls lying around, wasted, n guys taking their chances. condom dispensers around corners. the image of promiscuity comes to my mind. it's not that i didn't expect it, but coming from a 1st hand account, that image seems more real to me.

i feel sad, that one whole night is wasted just like that. probably it's your definition of fun, to the frequent clubbers. but ask urselves, isn't it so wasted? you can spend the night cosying up to ur nice bed in ur room, but you'll rather get drunk n lay around sleeping on the streets, n follow some random guy home.
after the hangover, barely rmb what has happened, is it worth it? surely there's more to life in meaning than this.

every culture inculcates different values. in asia, we're considered more conservative. but gradually over time, cultural values get corroded by influences from other cultures. as sg moves towards a more globalised city, with the IRs coming soon, our culture'll soon lose its uniqueness. look at how us now & how we think & feel about the media, about sex, about marriage, about studies. contrast that to what our parents' viewed these things. if we don't have a set of values we abide to, we're only going to allow corruding culture & friends to influence how we think n feel. then we'll come to realise we're no different from each other, cos we behave the same matter. we act in the same way as the friends we hang out with. sounds like a sweeping statement, but think about it. if you yourself don't have ur own set of values that you strongly believe in, you're gonna end up conforming to what others feel is right, & realising there's so many grey spots, so many areas to compromise.

n when you go overseas, it's gonna get worse, with the sudden change of culture, n without ur set of values, we'll end up conforming to the people there, & what they do. n we'll be all the same.

any differing opinions, pls share!
