just when i'm one step to achieving my dream - donating blood during a blood donation drive *bangs, dream is shattered*...

ok it sound very exaggerated, so here is how today went,
when i came to school, yang was asking me if i wanted to go for e blood donation drive at SIM today, i thought "yay ok, i'm going to achieve my 18th yr old bday wish", so excitedly we went to register n all that, i must say..e questionnaire has lotsa questions, n if you're like me, read through carefully everything a form has stated, then you'll be like me, taking very long to fill up e form..

anyway, after e doctor consultation n iron count test, everything was ready..i lied there on e chair waiting as e nurse went to find my veins, i kinda knew something was wrong when she kept asking me e squeeze e stress ball repeatedly, then she broke e sad news to me:
her "i'm afraid ur veins r too fine, wait i'll ask another nurse"
doctor "e side vein r e most visible now, but we don't think we're gonna draw blood from there, cos we haven't done that before n it's risky"
another nurse "you can't donate blood now, cos ur veins r too fine"
me "huh so sad"
another nurse "don't worry, exercise more (did some weighlifting action) n come back another in 6 months later"

i later learned that they can't draw blood when ur veins r too fine, cos e needle might get stuck

so off i went with a cute lime green stressball n iron tablets..feeling sad that i couldn't donate my blood, but ironically happy too (cos i didn't have to face e needle yet)

6 months later, i'll be back to donate blood, after i exercise more!!! =D
